For my final in Broadcast Tech my partner, James, and I interviewed a teacher at my school about a class he teaches called IED. It shows all the different types of things they do and learn in the class as well. If you go to LHWHS you should take this class because it really expands the inner engineer in you! I am very proud of this project because we learned a lot of new tricks using the software called Final Cut Pro. I will most defiantly use this new information in the future. Check out the video on my h0me page and the video page above to view it!
This is a different way to relay information to a large group of people. With the world evolving technology wise, it is very easy to connect with the outside world, and visual storytelling it a perfect way to do it. You can relay all types of things with this technique from different news centers and television stations. This also lets you control what the audience wants to see.
Sound is what makes the whole video come alive. It lets the audience understand the story in a different light. There are sounds that are not to good to place in your clip like a outside school bell, but some soft chatter in the background will make the video look and sound better.
when you are interested in a topic and want to do a story on it, you need to do your research. you need to have some background knowledge of the story to really get an in-depth story. You want to let the audience know that you are an expert on the topic. Let’s say you went in and made a video on something with no background knowledge about it. The story would seem unprofessional, unclear and people won’t take your end products seriously. Research is what makes your story real and seem as if it were polished. Interviewing is a way for journalists to use and get to know a person, the interviewee. When a person interviews a subject and record it that means there will always be a video of that person's personal opinions. instead of always being on the journalist's point of view it ends up being another person’s perspective.you can get on a personal level and be open about things because it is a one-one-one conversation, it is a way to connect the story and the people related to he story and make it into a package.
Have you ever seen someone record a clip using one boring angle the whole time. When you shoot a video you want to get different angles to represent the different perspective of the subject that you are recording. Interviews you see on the news they at least have two different angles so you get a full picture of where the interview was taking place. If you use different angles such as wide, medium, and tight shots in your clips then you will get a more appealing clip. your shots will feel as if the audience is actually there with you. angels have a big part of making a video a professional looking video.
Editing, is what makes or breaks a video. When you are editing your film, you don't want to make it to open or crazy because the audience is going to want the video to be visually appealing. When you edit you want to show the footage as if it was playing in real life. You want to enhance the video and highlight the better qualities about it. If you have a nice, clean edit for your video, when it all comes together it will look great.
